Merry Christmas (Or Happy Friday, Whichever Works For You)
And now for the most important holiday video ever:
HP Computers Hate Black People
Wow. Here's hoping they're working on a software fix for this, and fast, 'cause (a) this is lame and (b) it could lead to some interesting conversations at customer service counters around the nation.
CUSTOMER: Hi, I'd like to return this HP computer, please. It seems to be defective.
CLERK: Let me guess, the face-tracking feature isn't working as you expected?
CUSTOMER: That's right, how did you know?
CLERK: Oh, it doesn't work on people who aren't white.
CUSTOMER: ...
CLERK: Yup. Just like face tracking and a multi-touch screen, this product also has 'hate' as a built-in feature.
CUSTOMER: Why do I doubt they listed that on the box?
UPDATE: HP responds!
A Very Important Holiday Message
Write Write Write Write Write
Didn't finish enough words to complete NaNoWriMo (who'd have thought that working in retail, going to school and writing a novel during November would be difficult!), but I did get farther than I have in years past, so I guess that's kinda a win of some sort.
A definitive win can be found in my renewed interest in writing, which has lit the fire under me to finish a bunch of things I started writing but never finished (and, you know, maybe updating this blog more than once a month).
I have no ending to this, so I shall just take a small bow and hit 'publish.'

I mean, seriously, why shouldn't we give gay people the same chance to screw up a life-long commitment like marriage that we give Tiger "I Cheat On My Smokin' Hot Wife" Woods?

NaNoWriMo Update Two: Day 12 And Things Are Getting Tough
Things are getting a little tougher, thanks to the joy of working eighty-seven bajillion hours a week. Still keeping up at a good pace, thankfully, but finding time that I'm not wanting to just sleep myself into oblivion is pretty rough.
That's about all the update I have for you as of right now... Maybe more in the morning. For now, I'm going back to trying to string words into semi-coherent sentences.
NaNoWriMo Update One: We’re Off
Just finished the first chapter and 1,289 words of my novel that I'm doing for National Novel Writing Month, and have the first three chapters pretty solidly planned out. Compare this to the past few years, where I'd just be sitting down to write and then get distracted by some YouTube video of a hamster on a piano. Progress: Yep, I got it.
Sure, I'm still about 400 words away from the daily goal of 1,666 words (the requirement to complete the challenge is 50,000 words by the end of the month), but I think I can make that up tomorrow. For now, it is time to pass out.
G'night, internet.
